This calculator is a research tool developed at the Institute of Heart Diseases,
Wroclaw Medical University, Wroclaw, Poland, based on a relatively small patient
cohort with limited external validation. Its purpose is to provide accurate
prediction of 6-hour urine output after intravenous furosemide administration in
patients with acute heart failure, using baseline estimated glomerular filtration
rate (eGFR), spot urine sodium concentration measured 2 hours after diuretic
administration, and urine creatinine concentration measured at the same time point.
Importantly, only furosemide was used as the loop diuretic in this study; therefore,
the applicability of this model is currently restricted to predicting urine output
following furosemide administration.
The proposed model requires further validation in larger, prospective, and ideally
multicenter cohorts to confirm its generalizability and clinical utility.
At its current stage of development, this tool should be considered investigational and should not be used as a primary basis for clinical decision-making.
